Rules—House Rules for #dungeon
House rules we're using in our current game
- Character Level
- New players start 1 level behind the average for current players. That's something like 5th or 6th right now.
- Character Stats
- I forget what rules we used for this.
- Starting Gold
- Standard (from DMG) for starting level. DM may assign maximum amount that may be spent on a single item.
- Character XP
- XP are awarded by DM for encounters and for role-playing. Occassionally, the DM awards individual bonus xp for extraordinary role-playing. This bonus, if awarded, is 100*level.
- Mage Characters
- This is a previous house rule; not sure whether we're still using it. Wizards and sorcerers don't need to stock and use spell components. Assume you have the Eschew Materials feat for free.
- Sorcerers may choose spells from the cleric list to be their Spells Known list.
- Wizards are uncommon except among the elves. You need DM's permission to play a wizard of any other race.
- Cleric Characters
- This world currently doesn't have clerics. Sorcerers may cast cure spells and fulfill that role if they select the appropriate spells.
- Deities
- The deities of this world haven't been fully documented yet. Favorable contact with a deity may give your character special powers.
